Latin Sounds
The Latin Sounds group has 14 members and 5 new members this year.
Our Group likes to come to Springvale Neighbourhood House because they feel happy.
We learn to dance “Merengue, Cumbia, Salsa, Bachata” Latin Rhythms.
Our achievements included some people learning more than we expected. They managed to socialize with others and helped others to come out of their depression and loneliness. Dancing lessons helped them in a positive way.
They know that if they learn new steps they can show them or practice during the weekend avoiding feeling embarrassed. They feel that dancing lessons increase their self-esteem.
This year we went together to different places to practice our dances. We attended birthday celebrations: Each month we celebrate during the meeting with a cake.
We visited different venues to dance Latin Rhythms: We go out on weekends to other venues and try to practice what we learn. We have been to “Villa Adriana” and “Ormond Hall”.
